Overview

This will be a one-day workshop about using STATA for introductory and advanced statistical analysis. Material includes the following: 1- Introduction to STATA, computing summary statistics (mean, median mode, interquartile range, min, max, standard deviation, and frequency distribution) and creating graphs such as histogram, pie chart, column chart, box plot and scatter plots. 2- Performing analysis on a numerical continuous outcome. This includes one sample t-test, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, confidence interval for one mean and confidence interval for the difference between two means. 3- Performing analysis on a dichotomous outcome. This includes the proportion test, the binomial test, Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test, and McNemar's test. 4- introduction to univariable and multivariable linear and logistic regressions. Cases studies will be used all through this workshop.

NOTE: Participants are required to have a laptop. A temporary STATA license will be provided for use during the workshop.
