Overview
This immersive workshop will focus on creating an effective learning environment in simulation. Participants will gain an understanding the theoretical foundations of simulation such a Knowles and Kolb and designing scenarios grounded in international Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice. There will be interactive sessions on debriefing and providing peer feedback in debriefing. Creating and maintaining psychological safety in the prebrief, scenario, and debrief will be emphasized throughout this course.

Overall Learning Objective
  1. 1- Describe theoretical foundations of healthcare simulation.
  2. 2- Apply methods of designing effective simulation scenarios.
  3. 3- Describe techniques for debriefing that engage learners, promote reflection, and mitigate frustration.
  4. 4- Apply techniques for debriefing that engage learners, promote reflection, and mitigate frustration.
  5. 5- Demonstrate providing debriefing feedback to peers using formal and informal processes.
