Peripartum disorders can vary in prevalence, expression, co-morbidity and presentation of illness. These may be due to psychosocial factors or biological factors. It is important to discuss how to diagnose and manage these illnesses based on current and up to date data. This 2 day activity on peripartum disorders aims to provide an excellent overview for the attendees so that they feel better equipped to evaluate and manage patients presenting with these symptoms.

  1. 1- Recognize the risks posed by untreated peripartum psychiatric disorders
  2. 2- Demonstrate an understanding on how to identify and evaluate peripartum psychiatric illness

  4. 4- Describe the intersection between psychosocial factors and peripartum psychiatric illness
