Overview

The activity is an enduring online material that includes several modules. Modules cover the fundamentals of music-based interventions and the participant is expected to read, watch videos and answer a short quiz after each module. An end of activity exam will close this enduring material. Three recorded webinars complete this enduring material, during which participants will explore the various aspects of the multidisciplinary implementation of music-based interventions in countries where Music Therapists are scarce.

Overall Learning Objective
  1. 1-Identify and distinguish between Music Medicine, Music Therapy and other music-based interventions
  2. 2-Explain principles behind the techniques used by music therapists to treat speech deficits, motor deficit and cognitive and behavioral disorders
  3. 3-List clinical applications of music-based interventions and devise the appropriate approach for their implementation
  4. 4-Examine cultural specificities to take into consideration to implement music-based intervention in the Middle East
  5. 5-Recognize the potential benefits of introducing a music-based intervention in a clinical case
  6. 6-Identify the main actors of the multidisciplinary team needed for implementation of music-based interventions
  7. 7-Discuss the challenges and solutions for implementing music-based interventions in the Middle East

Registration fees - $100 or QAR 363

Note: Registration is open at all times. However, course content access to Canvas will be given every Monday and Thursday

 The Ministry of Public Health's Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) considers Asynchronous activities under Category 2 as self-directed learning.
