Overview

This will be four 2-hour sessions with application on the use of STATA for biostatistical analysis.

  • Session 1: includes introduction to STATA, computing summary statistics (mean, median mode, interquartile range, min, max, standard deviation, and frequency distribution) and creating graphs such as histogram, pie chart, column chart, box plot and scatter plots.
  • Session 2: includes performing analysis on a numerical continuous outcome. This includes one sample t-test, paired sample t-test, independent sample t-test, confidence interval for one mean and confidence interval for the difference between two means.
  • Session 3: includes performing analysis on a dichotomous outcome. This includes the proportion test, the binomial test, Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test, and McNemar's test.
  • Session 4: includes introduction to univariate and multivariable linear and logistic regressions.

All sessions will include application using case studies.

NOTE: Participants are required to have a laptop with STATA software downloaded.
