Overview

The Program is intended for healthcare practitioners. It explores established therapeutic uses of the medical Humanities in the clinical setting. Obtaining a certificate requires completing three modules that revolve around the application of narrative processing therapy, life review and art therapy in patients with specific clinical conditions. Activities include group discussions, reflection on assigned multimodal texts and three written assignments (one per week).

The total duration of the course is 20 hours. It blends asynchronous and synchronous mode of delivery including three online modules (15.5 hours) and three live webinars (4.5 hours).

The asynchronous program will be available on the learning management system starting from October 4, 2022, at 5:30 pm.

 

Online Modules

  • Module 1: Review of the humanistic perspective in medical education and clinical practice; Introduction to the application of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in clinical practice (5 hours) October 4 - 11, 2022.
  • Module 2: The Life Review theory and Practice; Introduction to the therapeutic applications of the Life Review (5 hours) October 11 – 18, 2022.
  • Module 3: Therapeutic applications of Visual Art Therapy (5.5 hours) October 18 – 25, 2022

  • Introduction to the course; Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) – October 4, 2022, 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
  •  Erik Erikson’s Life Review and its clinical applications – October 11, 2022, 4:00 – 5:30 pm.
  • Visual Art Therapy and its clinical applications in specific clinical conditions – October 18, 2022, 4:00 – 5:30 pm.

Certificate of Completion

 

As above mentioned, participants MUST complete three sequential modules to receive their certificate of completion. In each online module participants can work at their own pace. However, since the modules are sequential, they must submit all assignments in a given module in order to move on to the next one.

 

Certificate of attendance

 

An anonymous evaluation will be conducted online. All participants are required to complete the Evaluation Form in order to qualify for a certificate of attendance.
