Dr. Lori Solomon is Chair of the Department of Family & Community Medicine at New York Medical College where she has been a driver of curriculum innovation. Her interests include longitudinal skill development and acquisition of professional behaviors. Dr. Solomon has extensive experience with developing community teaching sites and has been active in the establishment of a longitudinally integrated clerkship at New York Medical College. Her desire to improve patients’ healthcare experience and health outcomes inspired her to start a new family medicine practice at New York Medical College which is co-located with the dental clinic at Touro College of Dental Medicine. She loves helping her patients adopt healthy lifestyles throughout all phases of life.

Dr. Solomon grew up in California and earned her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California San Diego. After spending a year doing HIV research, she relocated to New York, where she completed her Doctorate of Medicine and Masters of Public Health at New York Medical College. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at Brown University where she was Chief Resident. She is a member of the medical honors society Alpha Omega Alpha and has been awarded for her work in the community in Westchester County and the Bronx. Her research interests include health behaviors and medical student education.
