Dominique Laatz, DDS

Dr. Dominique Laatz is a dentist specialized in Oral Surgery and is currently working at the German Dental Center in Doha, where he is in charge of Oral Implantology and Oral Surgery since November 2017. 


He studied dentistry at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg Germany from

April 2005 to December 2010.


After working as a general practitioner in Waldshut in his first post-graduate year, he started a specialization program for Oral Surgery, while also working in clinics for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (Offenbach & Rüsselsheim from January 2012 to September 2017). He graduated in May 2015.


In 2014, he also graduated in the Master-of-Science program for Periodontology and Implantology of the German Society for Periodontology (DGParo) in which he was enlisted between May 2012 – September 2014


Dominique Laatz is a Fellow of the German Society for Implantology (DGI), the German Society for Periodontology (DGParo) and the German Society for tooth-, mouth- and jaw diseases (DGZMK).


In March 2018 he became a member of the WCM Grand Rounds committee.


His principal research interest are epidemiology, diagnosis and therapy of a wide variety of diseases affecting the oral tissues and the interrelationship of periodontitis with other diseases such as Diabetes and Rheumatoid Arthritis. 


He has a keen interest in science policy and the public understanding of science.
